 JT Clothing LLC was founded in 2012 by a freshman at Nichols College (Dudley, Mass) named Jamal Taylor from Connecticut (Hartford, Connecticut). He always had an inspiration of owning his own business but, never knew what business it would be. He then started to think about things he loved such as music, football, and fashion. An idea popped in his head and he decided that he wanted to start his own clothing line.

The hardest thing that he encountered while trying to start up his own clothing line was to think about a name. It couldn't be just any name it had to be a name that just made everybody recognize it was his clothing line. Then one day he came across a quote that said "When it comes to relationships, remaining faithful is never an option but a priority, LOYALTY IS EVERYTHING". This quote got him thinking about how lying, liars, lie can change peoples perspective and opinion about you. He wanted his clothing line to change peoples view about themselves and show their uniqueness. So that is where LIE originated from and it is actually an acronym for LOYALTY IS EVERYTHING. Being educated in Graphic Arts during high school he decided to put a couple of logo designs together. Thus, L.I.E Loyalty Is Everything was born.

Although he wanted L.I.E to be the name of the clothing line, legally he could not do it. Then he decided to name the clothing line JT CLOTHING because nobody has that name patent therefore he could use it
